How Tesla's referral link works

Tesla has run a referral program for over a decade. Here's how to use the link properly in Norway, and what actually lands in your account.
What you get in 2026
Tesla is running two variants in Norway right now. Which one you get depends on the model:
- Model Y and Model 3: 1,000 km free Supercharging. The credit lands on your Tesla account at delivery. Works at every Supercharger in Europe and lasts 12 months.
- Model S, Model X and Cybertruck: 5,000 NOK off. Deducted from the invoice before you pay the order fee. The amount shows up in your order summary.
The person who owns the link also gets a loyalty credit when your order completes. Both sides get something.
Step by step

Click the referral link
Tap the button on this page. You'll land on tesla.com, where a green checkmark confirms the referral is active.

Sign in or create a Tesla account
Use your existing Tesla account, or create a new one with email and phone. Takes under two minutes.

Configure your car
Pick model, color, wheels and interior. The discount or charging credit shows up in the order summary before you pay.

Complete the order
Once you pay the order fee, the referral is locked in. The benefit is ready on your Tesla account when the car arrives.
When the referral registers
The referral locks in at the moment you click. Tesla attaches an identifier to your account then, and it binds to the first order you place afterwards. If you click but don't order within 30 days, the attribution expires and you'll need to click again.
Order without clicking the link first, and the referral can't be added later — not even by contacting Tesla. The purchase agreement is locked to the terms that applied when the order fee was paid.
Who can use the link?
Any private buyer of a new Tesla in Norway can use a referral link. That includes first-time buyers and anyone who's owned a Tesla before. Existing owners just get a loyalty benefit instead of the standard referral bonus. The process is otherwise the same.
The program does not apply to:
- Used Tesla purchased directly from Tesla.com
- Business orders and corporate leasing
- Cars ordered for commercial use (taxi, rental, etc.)
- Test cars and demo cars
